Judging Panel
Week 1

Tule: Hello ladies! Welcome to your first judging panel! I hope you all enjoyed your first round, but unfortunately we are gonna have to send one of you home tonight. But before we start with the judging, let me review the prizes. The winner of Supermodel will receive:

-A campaign with Covergirl Cosmetics, which will run in eL Magazine.
-A Six-Page Spread and the Cover of eL Magazine
-$1,000 CDF
-$200 CDF Store Credits at Keb's Grafix n More.
-The winner will be the new face of KEBANO designs.

Ok, so let's start judging!

Althea

Althea, I’m actually quite impressed by this. You are probably one of the most beautiful contestants here, and in this photo it really shows. However, there are things you really need to work on. Although that left arm does look pretty beautiful, there is something really awkward about it. Plus, it really takes away from your face cause it covers your left eye. I wish we could really see your face more. Your right arm looks quite long. Also, not only do I feel the leg you bent is a little bit high, but I also don’t like how the knee looks cut off. Whenever you do that, you always have to remember to either draw the cut off portion of the leg or cut some of the leg off so that the knee is curved. I would have to say overall this is a pretty good pose and picture at first glance, but work on your editing, your proportions (a bit) and the realism in the poses.

Alessandra

Eeek, Alessandra, I am not really a fan of this photo I’m afraid. The pose just looks stiff and awkward. Your left arm is way too long, especially compared to your legs. However, those are not the worst of my concern. You just look so…short, especially way too short for a model. It just doesn’t look very good. I see potential, but you are not presenting it in this photo.

Felicia

You look gorgeous there, Felicia! I do see potential. You’ve got amazing eyes and an amazing face. However, I’m not a big fan of this photo. You are relying on pretty. You are just standing there. There is no effort in your position or your pose. Being a model is more than just being beautiful, remember.

Erin

Erin, this is pretty good. From the waist down, this is a good pose. I think you executed broken down doll quite well with your legs. However, from the waist up, I think we need some work. I do just not like that right arm, how it’s turned upward like that. The hair selection is also a little bit dramatic for this type of photoshoot. I really felt you should’ve stuck with your normal style or something less dramatic, cause the hair makes it look as if you just came out of Star Wars. A good Round 1 photo, but you have a lot to work on.

Porticia

Probably my favorite photo this week, Porticia. I just think everything works; the face, the pose, the styling. However, I do have a probably with the shading. It’s a little too much at some parts. Also, girl look how skinny your ankles are! Way too skinny. We gotta get some meat on them bones, now don’t we? But overall, this is a very strong photo.

Naikimoto

At first glance, this is an absolutely brilliant photo. I absolutely adore the pose and the outfit choice! You really look like a model there. However, there are some flaws that I must point out. Even though your llegs go on for miles and I love how you are so tall, you look maybe…so tall that it looks abnormal? I think the major problem with this photo is the proportions. Now, if this was a normal human being the proportions would be fine, but you have to realize that Candybar Dolls have heads that are unproportional to the body. Just the length in the arms and the abs and the arms and then the normal sized head makes it all look too human for me and less Candybar Doll, which is not what we want. But you’ve got a great body for modeling and I see so much great potential, cause I cannot deny how fierce this pose is. Probably the best of the week pose-wise

Cassie

Cassie, the first thing I notice is immediately the strength in your face. You are really beauitful. I think the photo is ok for round 1, but it’s a little…boring. I think that you could’ve made the pose more dynamic, because it is just so mall girl. Not a bad photo, but work on more interesting and high fashion poses.

Bianca

This looks really mall girl too, Bianca. I don’t like this photo that much. I see your gorgeous eyes, but everything else is so blahhh. Like Felicia, you are pretty much just standing there. I’m just not seeing much to critique in this photo, because you didn’t do that much. You need to put more effort into your poses.

I will review your photos and when you come back, we will learn which one of you will no longer be in the competition.

Bianca, in this photo we did not see a model. We saw a random girl we just picked up off the street. There was not effort in your pose and it came off as extremely dull.

Alessandra, we see the effort in this photo, but it came off as stiff and unappealing. Your legs especially looked short, and in the modeling world short is not a good thing.
