Tule: Welcome to panel #3, guys! Tonight, our panel of expert judges will review your designs and determine which one of you unfortunately will not make it to the fifth round of this competition, the Final 5.

Let's review our prizes:
-A 4 page spread in eL Magazine to display your designs
-$500 CDF
-$250 CDF store credits to Keb's Graphix n More
-A chance to become a well-known fashion designer in the CB Fashion Industry

Now as you know, Juji decided to drop out of the competition, so you had your 3rd and 4th design challenges back-to-back. We will first bring out your 3rd design challenges and evaluate those. Then, you will exit, we will discuss and then we will bring out your 4th design challenges and evaluate those.

For your 3rd Design Challenge, we asked you to design a futuristic outfit using your own interpretation.

Bootz :: Basically bootz the only futuristic concept in your design is the colour, everything else is a little...bland. First of all the T-shirt is just a T-shirt with a cat on it, some shoulder pads would have really boosted up the futuristic side of this outfit. As for the skirt I can't help but think ruffles would have been more appropriate, this kind of looks like your model is off to play tennis.

Gormorca :: And we have it again, the mish mash of colours to create an outfit that doesn't match. What were you thinking Gormorca!? Nothing says futuristic in this design it's just a cheap skirt with an oddly shaped sleeveless top...I'm not impressed. Then we get to the shoes! Green wollen boots? If people are wearing this in the future we might aswell destroy the world now!

Kerimina :: I really like how your outfit works as a whole, you have a consistent colour scheme that looks nice. I just don't get a futuristic vibe from your design Kerimina, it's more like "goth hooker". If it was in silver maybe I could see it differently, but I do like how you've opted for short shorts, it was risky but it shows off your models great legs.

Liselle :: Once again Liselle this is futuristic at it's best! I love how you went for high waisted fabric shorts, it's very 60's but it's definitely coming back into fashion in the FUTURE and that's what this whole task was about. How you used a bit of excess material on your models arm is also very inventive. If I had to have one negative it would definitely be the colour, something darker would have been more appropriate in my opinion.

Nikki :: Let me start by saying Nikki, I love the top half of your design, the V-shaped top is very futuristic and something I actually haven't seen before. The A-symmetric skirt is a nice touch too as it's not simple but it's not drastically over the top. What I don't like is the heel/boot combo, I can't see anyoen walking down the street wearing two different shoes, so I don't think that part of your design would be very sellable.

Sykalo :: In terms of design you've really sunk low for me this week Sykalo. This design is more hippy than it is futuristic! First of all the waistcoat/T-shirt look has been done by hundreds of designers so it's hardly "the future" and those jeans! I HATE none full-length jeans it's just tacky...but then you top it off with two polka dot scarfs tied round the models legs? None of it works I'm afraid

Bootz :: I think it cool design. You use bottom and use top that matched well for future. Only criticism I give you is hair and eyebrows. You should use hair more than just one. And eyebrows you should use because she look like alien. Other than that you do good job.

Gormorca :: This design was lack of future. I was disappointed in you. Shoes for future? NO! Bottom for future? Again NO! Top for future? Again again NO! Only that look for future is glasses. That went future very well. I dislike this design. You don't work hard very well.

Kerimina :: It was too goth and too stripper. It not future enough. You disappointed me a lot this week. It don't have future very well. You take good design but not this. It was boring design. You need work hard on design to match theme.

Liselle :: BEST DESIGN IN HISTORY OF MODELISTE! You work for third in row weeks that well. You was best designer. I love this design even more than your design. It was cool and I could see this on Vogue and high-fashion magazine.It perfect design. You are frontrunner now!

Nikki :: I love this design! This is fierce. It look well for future. You was amazing designer! I could see in high-fashion magazine. So hot design. You work very well on this design. This design is your best design.

Sykalo :: I love shoes! It perfect shoes. It match future very well. Other than that. This design was good. It match future very well. I love hair! It was fierce. You do amazing job on this design. You work very well on this design.

Bootz :: It doesn’t come off necessarily as a futuristic design. It looks very “J-Pop” and “anime”. However, it’s definitely an improvement over your past work, and to be honest this is the best you’ve done. I just love that puffy sleeve you’ve got going on, as well as the sort of “androgyny” in the design. With that said, I still don’t find this design amazing, and I really feel you need to step your game up even more if you really want to win this.

Gormorca :: Gormorca, for some reason I feel that every single week you hand in a design where it looks as if you’ve just thrown everything together, totally disregarding whether everything even fits together. It just looks like you threw your model in a dryer filled with clothes, turned it on and just turned it what you got. Once again, that’s what I get from this design. It comes off as very cheap. However, with that being said I feel you tackled the theme in a unique way and I applaud you for that.

Kerimina :: I will just say I don’t like the leggings cause they come off as trashy and very *friendly* personty, but this is not a bad design. It’s not necessarily futuristic, because I have seen stuff like this already out there. It’s got a very emo, rocker chic vibe to it. However, I cannot say it’s a bad design. It’s just sorta…very *friendly* personty and cheap, like something you’d casually wear to a strip club. I’m not a fan of this top, because I just feel it doesn’t go with the design because it just looks so complex sitting next to everything. However, I like the hair piece because it adds something different to this design that you really wouldn’t expect, but as a whole this design just comes off as decent, but not amazing.

Liselle :: Wow, wow, wow. Once again, you give a knock out design. I just love this design, and this is definitely your strongest one so far in this competition. Everything works for me, and you’ve really done what I want everyone here to do, which is give something unique and original, yet make sure it works. You went for it. It’s just so different and appealing, and I’ve never seen anything exactly like this piece. I’m just so intrigued by the shape of your top, and just this gorgeous cloth you put on the arms; wow. I also love the color you used. It just makes your design pop. Those sunglasses really add a unique flare to the design. Amazing job, Liselle.

Nikki :: This is such a unique design! At first when I saw this design, I was like “who dragged in the elf” but you know it’s a very intriguing piece. I’m just so fascinated by those boots and what you did with them, how one is so much longer than the other. It was so unique of you to do that, and you know maybe one day in the future we may just do that. I will have to say that is the only thing I find interesting about this design, but it’s solid.

Sykalo :: I love the styling of the model. The hair and the lipstick really make her shine, so good job with that. The design is not bad, but it is not your best work. I just don’t see anything futuristic about it. It looks like some punk rocker outfit. However, I think it goes together really well, and I just love the look of it on your model. I just feel you missed the concept, but it does show you know how to style your model well, which is a good thing.

Tule: Welcome back! We will know review your designs for your 4th Design Challenge. Now for this challenge we gave you a special client. You had to design an outfit for none other than singer Lady GaGa. Let's see how you did.

Bootz :: Oddly enough bootz, this kind of works! The cut of your skirt is very Lady Gaga as she loves to show off a bit of leg and the arm bracelets look reaally funky! I'm just not sure about your fabric print, those flowers look really tacky and are something you should find on a towel not a high fashion outfit!

Gormorca :: I'm an avid Lady Gaga fan Gormorca, and I can honestly say she wouldn't be found dead in this! Your model looks like a fitness fanatic cow girl bird enthusiast who enjoys leg warmers...it's just not a nice outfit! The top is killing me the most, it's something an athlete would wear, not gaga the queen of fashion! I really think you need to research clients more before creating an outfit for them.

Kerimina :: Well it's an interesting concept Kerimina and I like how you've thought out of the box. The pattern of the dress is exquisite and very unique, but unfortunately I don't like the cut. The dress is so high there's no cleavage! Someone who is in the public eye pretty much 24/7 has to show off a bit and I just think this dress would have been much better if you cut it off before the shoulders.

Liselle :: Well I absolutely love the blue bodice Liselle it's very well constructed and is definitely something gaga would wear. In my opinion you've gone a bit too over the top though. The half skirt is extremely edgy...but then you ruin it with some dreadful tights not even a three year old would wear. Plus your model is in flats! Gaga never wears flats! I do like the glasses though they're so Lady G it's uncanny.

Nikki :: Even though this is beyond simple Nikki, I can really see Gaga wearing this, it shows off all her best assets while not being too very *friendly* personty. I can't help but think it's too simple though, maybe some really edgy shoulder pads would have made it more dynamic.

Sykalo :: Has Christmas come early Sykalo!? Your models looks like she's getting ready for the holidays not a huge pop concert. I do like the plaid skirt though, it's very well fitted but as for the rest of your design it falls flat. The top has a really unique shape to it but it's ruined by all the pattern that adds nothing to the final design.

Bootz :: That was fierce! You getting better and better. Your do work hard on this design. I think this is your best week. It look like Lady Gaga outfit. It was nice design. Top and skirt are match very well. Great job, Bootz!

Gormorca :: That was bad. Your design don't match to Lady Gaga. Bird on top of head? She don't wear bird on top of her head. Top and bottom are bad match. It was so ugly design. It very plain. She look like she is street girl not Lady Gaga. It was fashion disaster. You don't work hard on this design.

Kerimina :: Better than last week. I think you try to hard work on this design. It was amazing design. I could see this design on any high-fashion magazine. It was fierce and unique. I like how you drawing design than elouai. It look like Lady Gaga and high fashion together. Great job Kerimina!

Liselle :: This design is seriously AMAZING! It was fierce and design look like Lady Gaga's outfit but only criticism is hair. I don't hate it but I don't think hair is match for this design. But other than that I love design. Top and bottom are amazing and match very very very well. Your design are unique so much. You are best designer but this week isn't your best but this design is amazing.

Nikki :: This design is worst ever on Modeliste. This design don't match for Lady Gaga. Honestly she look like porn star. It is so very *friendly* personty design. Will Lady Gaga wear this? No. If model wear this design in public. She will get embarrased. It such shame you made design that was great but this was worst design you ever make. This is Modeliste not very *friendly* personty Design.

Sykalo :: Good design. It matched well with Lady Gaga outfit. I could see Lady Gaga may wear this outfit. It was cool but not high-fashion worthy but nice. It very sexy and interesting. But I think you don't try to hard work on this design. Which is not good thing. But good job, Skaylo

Bootz :: Hmmm I’m not sure if I like this. I firstly not really a fan of the fabric you used and all these flowers. I also do not like this bottom skirt, because I just don’t see Lady Gaga wearing it. It just looks too elegant and flowy. I think you should’ve gone with something my dynamic and shorter.

Gormorca :: It’s a little too much I’m afraid. You definitely have your own unique sense of style, but once again I feel you’ve piled too much into your outfit. It’s just too much for me. You put too much for me. Sometimes, less is more. On top of that, once again, everything doesn’t go together. The colors are just all jumbled about, the outfit is so random (even for Lady Gaga). It’s just not a very strong design. I do like the shape of the skirt. It is dynamic. However, I hate the color and how it is styled.

Kerimina :: It’s alright, but it sorta looks like a gray lump of fabric at first, especially the upper part. It’s very lumpy and it lacks structure. Also, I just don’t know what in the world is so Lady GaGa about this outfit. The color is boring and plain, the design is just boring, this design is boring! I’m not a fan of this unfortunately.

Liselle :: Wow this is awesome. You really went for it, something that I really wanted from you guys. This outfit is just so filled with personality and uniqueness with all these different types of fabrics and the variety of colors and how you used them throughout the garment. I’m really impressed with this design. I personally would’ve liked this more if you’d taken the tights out and used heels instead, but overall this is an excellent design.

Nikki :: It’s a gorgeous design, don’t get me wrong. However, it just lacks a wow factor. I mean Lady Gaga is extreme, and I just don’t find this design dynamic enough. It’s basically just a shirt with a pair of undies. It does look good, but I just wish you put more you and something more dynamic and eye catching into it. It just doesn’t look like you really went for it. It’s a safe design.

Sykalo :: I sorta like the top. It’s just got an interesting look and a color that makes it stand out. I can see Lady Gaga wearing it, so good job with that. However I’m not sure I like the skirt, cause it just has no structure and it just looks so cheap. Also, I do not like the fact that this outfit is flat out pink. I just wish you had varied the colors more throughout the design. It’s overall a very average design. Your weakest one so far.

Gormorca, you've been consistently on the edge of elimination. You are a stand out designer, but sometimes not in a good way. Your designs tend to be jumbled and cluttered, and it does not look as if you thought about how you put them together. We are beginning to feel that you are not ready.

Sykalo, you started out very strong, but you have been slipping since Round 1. Your Lady GaGa outfit, in my opinion, is your weakest design to date. If this trend continues, we are not sure if you should continue.

::Design Challenge #5::
"Top 10 Fall Trends"

Immediately after panel, the Final 5 were sent to the design studio for their next challenge

Tule: Ok, Final 5. Now, 4 of you are gone and another 4 of you are going to leave before we find out which one of you will become the next Modeliste.

You challenge is based the Top 10 Fall Trends laid out by Seventeen Magazine's September 09 Issue. Here are the trends:

80s Brights (neon colors)
Hardware (metal accents)
Menswear Pants
Lace
Strong Shoulders
Statement Bangles
Boho Luxe
Motorcycle Jackets
Ruffles
Corduroy

HOWEVER, there is more to this challenge than meets the eye. As a fashion designer, it is very important that you have versatility. You want to reach a broad spectrum of people so your products will sell more efficiently.

So, it is time for you guys to design outfits for GUYS! You will be designing two outfits; one for the females, one of the males. You must use a total of 4 different trends when making the outfits. Also, the outfits should go together because your guy and your girl will be walking the catwalk together.

Good luck! Only 4 of you will make it to the next round.

::Guidelines::

1. Design TWO outfits using the trends, one female and one male. These may be formal, casual, even underwear or swimwear if you want.

2. You may use any techniques in order to make your designs (straight from the maker, recoloring, drawing, etc), except using parts of real pictures.

3. Send your design, using any model you choose. It should be on a transparent or a solid-colored background.

4. Note that the two designs will be edited onto the same runway. Therefore, the two designs should go together in some way.

5. You must use at least four different trends total. How you split this up between the two outfits I don't care, but there must be at least four trends there. Of course you may use more. Please tell me the trends you used.

5. The deadline is August 24th. PM your designs to me.
