Julie Helson-Owner of 'Dreamz Model Management'
Michael Grange-Notified Fashion Photographer
Welcome ladies to your second judging! But before we get started how about I talk about your fabulous prizes? The winner of Make Me A Top Model will receive a fashion spread in ‘EL Magazine’ courtesy of the editor in chief Josh Kebano. And representation with Dreamz Model management! They will also win a campaign with Essence cosmetics! Now on to our wonderful judges, noted fashion photographer ‘Michael Grange’ and The owner of Dreamz Model Management, Miss ‘Julie Helson’. This week you portrayed fashion sculptures in the New York City Art Gallery, so Brenda let’s begin with you:
Brenda-Hey everyone
George-Hi Brenda, shall we take a look at your picture?
Julie-...I don’t like it. You look stiff and compared to last week you’ve fallen a lot!
Michael-I disagree Julie, you really look like a fashion sculpture, and though it’s not as good as last week you still look gorgeous
George-I’m 50/50 to be honest Brenda, last week you were like a doll, this week you’re just a pretty face.
George-Could Bryony come forward
Bryony-Hello
George-As for your picture Bryony, there’s not really much to say, you angled your legs but you look like you’re going to fall over
Michael-From a photography point of view you’re offering nothing unique
Julie-I also wouldn’t take you on as an agent. You come into panel looking scruffy and so far your body of work is not impressive
George-Moving onto Candice
Candice-Hey ya’ll!
George-I see that bubbly personality is still present, even with this lovely haircut, as for your photo it’s simple but I like it!
Julie-The position of your hand takes it to that next level aswell
Michael-Though this isn’t necessarily High Fashion it would make some amazing commercial work, well done
George-Can we see Elina please
Elina-Hello
George-No Russian this week?
Elina-I thought I would speak in a language you can understand this time around
George haha, fair enough, now onto your picture. I actually really like it, it’s so simple but you look like a highly paid fashion model
Michael-I agree, you’re so photogenic and now that the generic blonde hair has gone you look like a real supermodel
Julie-This shot could have been more statue-esque but I can easily see this in any magazine!
George-Lucy’s next
Lucy-Hey
George-Ok Lucy, you have clearly conquered your angles as you are working this picture! Your legs are perfectly positioned to create that statue like pose
Julie-Personally I love the slight concave of the back which could possibly make you look shorter but here you’ve perfected it!
Michael-You are also giving a lot of eye contact to the camera which photographers love, and the cheesy grin is gone!
George-That’s a hard picture to follow but let’s see Marissa’s
Marissa-Let’s hope it’s a good one!
George-...unfortunately it isn’t. You had so much room to do something amazing and you’re just stood there
Michael-Above that you photograph quite old Marissa, you need to find your light and work with it
Julie-The pose is bland, you look bland and the pictures bland
George-Ok Martina is next
Martina-Hey
Julie-You don’t look very confident Martina, what’s wrong?
Martina-I hate my haircut...red is not my colour
Julie-We didn’t choose it for you to like it, we chose it because it’s in fashion, you’ll just have to deal with it
George-As for your picture, it’s not good I’m afraid, your legs are annoying me...should they bend that way?
Michael-I agree, you look bored and we have told you before to tone down your poses
George-Ok following that is Mika
Mika-Nai Hao
George-Nai Hao to you too and might I say you are ROCKING this picture! Just look at those angled legs
Julie-I love how you’ve fully opened your eyes in this shot so we can see how beautiful they are. Plus you are showing off every bit of clothing you have on.
Michael-This is gorgeous Mika, the slight tilt of your head gives it that extra dynamic! Well done
George-It’s another hard one to follow but can Rhianna step up please
Rhianna-Hello everyone
George-Hey Rhianna, do you feel confident this week?
Rhianna-Well I think I did better than last week but we’ll see
Julie-I love how serene your face is in this picture Rhianna, it’s a side we haven’t seen to you
George-The pose is nice aswell, especially your right leg
Michael-I just have a problem with the fact you’ve lost your neck, when wearing an outfit that covers up your neck you need to push your head back so we can see it
George-Sindra, you’re next
Julie-Thank God that purple thing has gone!
Michael-You look much edgier now Sindra
Sindra-It’s goona take some getting used to but I’ll work at it
George-Your picture this week was...ok. In my opinion it’s a little too over the top
Julie-I don’t like how you’ve twisted your head so far it makes you look possessed!
Michael-You also look like your mounting a horse, this is an example of where your background in dancing has unfortunately hindered you
George-And finally Talia
Talia-Good evening everyone
George-You look REALLY stiff in this picture Tahlia, what were you thinking about?
Talia-Well statues are stiff aren’t they?
Michael-They are but there’s being stiff and then there’s looking like your frozen
Julie-I agree you look stiff but you did work well with your surroundings
*After a long deliberation, the judges had made their decision*George-So the judges have deliberated! And one of you will be sent home
Sindra
*stepping out of the crowd*-Sorry George I have something to say
George-...?
Sindra-I feel quite upset that basically you have just given Elina my personal style, colours and all
George-To be honest Sindra, I think it’s a bit stupid of you bringing this up right here right now, we gave your style to Elina because it suited her European looks better! If you can’t let go of something as little as personal style you seriously need to re think your place in this competition
*Sindra walks back into the crowd*George- Anyway, the first girl I’m going to call is:
1.Mika
2.Candice
3.Lucy
4.Elina
5.Rhianna
6.Brenda
7.Sindra
8.Talia
9.Martina
That means in the bottom two we have Bryony and Marissa. Bryony, this is your second time here! Each week you produce a mediocre pose and facial expression, are you diverse enough to be a model? But then we have Marissa, the judges think you photograph old and so far you’ve been unable to give any emotion, but who stays? Click the question mark to find out!
