Jenna: Hello, contestants. Welcome to this temporary panel room we have set up in the store room of Walmart!! I will be critiquing you on your designs, and in the end we will be making the cut. The ones who make it to the next round will be the true contestants of Modeliste. Ok, before we get started, let me remind you of our prizes.

So, let's begin.

Hejumi
Out of all the outfits here, this is the most high fashion, and I could really see this on the street or on the runway. It¡¦s simple, but it really works. White-black color schemes always work in my mind! The styling on your model is very good. I like how you did her hair like that so quickly! However, my main concern is that you did not follow the rules at all. Firstly, the top you used is not one of the ones you were allowed to use. Yes, you were allowed to use additional clothing, but I also said that the top and bottoms from the rack were to be visible. I cannot see an assigned top in this shot. Also, you modified that top with those stripes, and you were told not to modify the outfits, only add accessories and other sorts of clothing. Although creativity is key, it¡¦s important to follow the rules and take direction as a designer. Also, on a technical note, you need to be cleaner on your editing, and I feel you went a little too overboard on the shading. A bit of shading helps, but when you overdo it, it just looks messy. Plus, I also feel your shading is a little off at some places. It should be more about the design, Hejumi, not your editing abilities.

Alva, this is a pretty good design. A red-white color scheme is pretty good looking. However, my main issue with this design is that I really don¡¦t see it as runway-worthy. I don¡¦t know, it just doesn¡¦t look fashionable. The outfit is cute, but it doesn¡¦t look expensive. It¡¦s like strawberry shortcake meets hooker!

Well firstly, CC, I will have to point out first that you did not follow instructions. You were supposed to put your design on a white or transparent background, and you did neither. Now, about the design, it looks as if it was very inspired by a sort of Anime mixed with a schoolgirl look. I think the outfit is overall ok, but it just feels way too school uniform, not something I would really want to buy. I don¡¦t know. It feels sorta bland.

Sally, there¡¦s something very interesting about this that I like. The top and the accessories really give off a cute feeling, yet those sorts and those legs really add spice to it. Everything¡¦s so bright! The green you used is really vibrant, and with the white it makes the whole thing pop out. You win the award for the most interesting and stand out design in my opinion, and even with that horrendous with those awful sleeves, I still think you did a good job.

Hmm, this is cute George and not a bad first task, but I cannot say much about it. I¡¦m always a fan of a more conservative, black/white, but I feel you could¡¦ve done more. It¡¦s very plain-Jane right now in my opinion. Yes, I could see this on the runways, but I would I buy it and would it automatically stand out to me? No.

Nathaniel and Matthew, I¡¦m very disappointed. The fact that you did not even try to complete a design really tells me about your attitude towards this competition. Do you want this or not?

Hejumi. Even though you had the best design, it wasn't necessarily the most creative. But mostly, you did not follow so many directions and rules. When we say do not edit the outfits, don't edit them. Your editing, sometimes sloppy, gets in the way of the design. Congratulations. You are in.

Will Nathaniel and Matthew please step forward?

You both are the bottom 2 for this week for very similar reasons. Both of you did not submit a design, and I am just unsure whether or not you acutally have potential or passion for this industry. So who goes?
